“Dear Dr. Dean: Formerly I shared the 'hate-to-go-to-the-dentist' mentality because of painful childhood experience as well as my unresolvable needle phobia. Sounds crazy, but I chose to bear the excruciating misery of the old-fashioned drills in lieu of the needle injection of relieving Novocain anesthetic (as it was called in the olden days.) then I started going to you close to 20 years ago. On my very first visit, while whining and moaning about wanting to opt out of the shot because of my needle fear, you were working with your unbelievable light, gentle touch and said, I've already made the injection. What? I was astounded! I looked up at you and all I could think to say was, 'I'm in love!'"
